Questions before you buy
Everything riders ask about the Fat Tyre Step-Through before ordering, answered in plain English.
Still have a question?
Our UK team knows every bike in the range and is happy to help you choose.
Ask our teamAbout this bike
How far can I ride on one charge?
The claimed range is approximately 60–80 miles (96–129 km). Real-world range depends on rider weight, terrain, weather, tyre pressure and the assistance level you use.
Are fat tyres useful for everyday riding?
Yes. The 20” × 3” tyres give a larger contact patch for extra grip and stability. They are suited to roads, dirt tracks, sand and snow, and make uneven surfaces feel more controlled.
Who is the step-through frame for?
The low frame makes it easy to get on and off, which helps with frequent stops, carrying bags, or if you simply prefer a more accessible bike.
Is it good on hills?
The 250W motor delivers up to 80 Nm of torque, and with 7 gears you can match your effort to the gradient. The claimed maximum climbing angle is up to 30°.
What comes fitted as standard?
Front and rear lights, a rear rack, a bell, a front suspension fork and a colour LCD display showing speed, assistance level, trip and battery information.
Battery & charging
Is the battery removable?
Yes. The 48V 13Ah lithium-ion battery is removable, so you can take it inside and charge it at home or at work while the bike stays parked.
How long does it take to charge?
A full charge takes approximately 3–5 hours from a standard UK socket.
Riding in the UK
Is the Fat Tyre Step-Through road-legal in the UK?
Yes. The Fat Tyre Step-Through is an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) under UK rules: a 250W motor with assistance that cuts out at 15.5 mph (25 km/h). You can ride it on roads and cycle paths just like a normal bicycle.
Do I need a licence, insurance or registration?
No. In Great Britain you can ride an EAPC from age 14 with no driving licence, registration, road tax or insurance.
Delivery, returns & warranty

What if it isn't right for me?
You have 30 days to return it. See our returns policy for how it works.
What warranty do I get?
2 years on the frame and motor and 1 year on the battery, on top of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See our warranty page.
